Rod and I lived neaby to one another in Mt. Prospect.  His house was on the corner of Council Trail and Owen Streets; mine (where my mom still lives today) was one house north of Council Trail and George Streets.  This gave me the opportunity to see him often when I'd ride my bike to and from  Lions and Lincoln Jr. High  Schools, which we both attended,  Later, and after I had my driver's license, I'd do the same tooling around in my parent's Chevy station wagon and the VW Beetle I had when attending SIU.  After college Rod lived in that same house with his Mom; we renewed our aquaintence, and, as former Mt. Prospect Midget Football teammmates, he'd willingly take part in my annual Turkey Bowl touch football games at Lions Park.  These Thanksgiving morning events went on rain or shine, snow or ice for 25 years, and gave us both the opportunity to see many other PHS 74 classmates who were regular particiants.  RIP Rod, and go deep for this one!
